First and foremost, Buck Buchanan is not a politician.  Buck simply strives to serve his community and work hard for a safe and enjoyable place for our families to live and grow.  Buck is a 57 year old, lifelong resident of Precinct 4. He has been married to his wife Patricia for 36 years.  Buck and Patricia have two wonderful daughters and five beautiful grandchildren.  Buck has served his community as Harris County Board of Directors Mud #26, Homeowners Association Board, Kenswick/Millcreek Security Director, involved in local 4-H and FFA chapters throughout Precinct #4, Kiss For A Cure benefiting Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Aldine Masonic Lodge # 1412 for 28 years, a member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo/ Horspitality Committee for 16 years, member of Spring First Church on 2920, and many other efforts serving Northeast Harris County.

Why are you running for Harris County Commissioner, Pct. 4?

Most importantly, I want to serve the people of Harris County and the citizens of Precinct 4. 

I want the people of Pct. 4 to know that the Commissioner’s duties are not only managing parks, roads & bridges, but also the citizens of Pct. 4’s voice in handling the Harris County Budget.  I’ve had the opportunity to serve as an elected member of the Board of Directors for Harris County MUD #26 in Precinct 4 for the past two years, and I have worked for a Fortune 500 company for the past 26 years.  I understand budgeting and also understand that you, the citizens of Pct. 4, should be able to voice your opinion and be included in budget making decisions. The Harris County “Budget” is made up of your “tax” dollars. 

I had no intentions of running for Harris County Commissioner, until our commissioner had to step down.  When our new commissioner was selected by a politician putting his friend in office, I was motivated to stand up for you, the people of Pct.4.  I promise that I will be the commissioner that brings the commissioner back to the people.  I will bring honesty and integrity to Commissioner’s Court.
